Andrea Cisternino (vegan): An Italian Lifeline for Animal-People in Ukraine (Ureign), Part 1 of 2

Because I always want to give the positive message that violence must not win. I told the (Italian) ambassador: “Protect me as an Italian citizen but I am staying.” The other dogs, the 24, they all ran away to the countryside, they all came back to us.... And after four days I called the boys and said: “Guys, we have shed tears over our own dead, our angels. Now we take them all one by one, we bury them all together, and from tomorrow we will rebuild everything all over again.” While such a tragedy would have devastated many, Andrea made a remarkable comeback by rebuilding the shelter.
