Look after your body – it’s a precious temple for worshipping the Creator. I have a stretching tip for you today. Frozen shoulder is a common condition where the shoulder gradually becomes hard to move and increasingly painful. To help improve shoulder mobility, you can perform the following shoulder exercise while lying down. First, grip both ends of either a scarf, hand towel or dowel rod and lift it to 90 degrees. Then gradually move it from side-to-side. If your shoulder is stiff, start out gently since this can be uncomfortable. You can also perform another exercise using a towel to increase your shoulder’s mobility. To perform this stretch, stand up straight and hold a towel above your head with your good arm and then grab the other end of the towel with your sore arm placed behind your back. Use your good arm to pull upwards to lift your sore one to feel a deep stretch in your shoulder. Attempt ten repetitions with a short two-second pause each time, three to four sets, three times daily. Lastly, you can also try the pectoral muscle stretch. Just hook your fingers around a door frame or corner of a wall, and then lean forwards to feel a stretch across your upper arm, front shoulder and slightly into your chest.
