Those Masters Who have come before us, have such great names and greatness, that even Their names must be mentioned only with reverence. It cannot even be mentioned casually. But even then, it’s very, very difficult for Them to gather people for any spiritual purpose, and less even so for group meditation. Many, many people, many Masters have a lot of properties and Centers for the people, but they just don’t come. Not that it costs them anything, just their time. It’s very difficult for people to come and join in group meditation. They’d rather watch TV, watch football or anything else. It’s very difficult at this time, because the material development is abundant, so people have too many things to enjoy.
And therefore, I’m very blessed to see such a beautiful and diligent congregation. And I think it’s my duty to inform you, to also remind you of your own blessing, that we have such a beautiful group, and very diligent, very sincere and very pure. That’s why I did not tell you all these stories to make you proud, just to let you know that we are really, really blessed. And just at the moment I told you in my heart, I was very, very grateful to God. I just closed my eyes and thanked God wholeheartedly. It was the truth. And I could cry even because I was so, so touched.
So many Masters have come, and They suffered so much for mankind. But still, we do not wake up on time. Two thousand years after (Lord) Jesus, we are still the way we were. So many wars, so much violence and so much unhappiness. Even maybe on a greater scale than before. In (Lord) Jesus’ time, the priests made some offerings to God every day. And people already criticized because all the temples were smeared with the blood of sacrifices. And all the hands of the priests were full of the blood of the innocent. But look at what we do now. In the old times, only the priests could kill some animal-people and offered them to God first, and then they ate. And the amount was not that much. But look at what we do now. We have big, big, big, big slaughterhouses, fully organized and equipped to kill thousands in one day. And not even to offer to God, just to offer to ourselves. So, you see, we have not progressed really. Our so-called “civilization” is only a material manifestation. And spiritually, we have not really progressed that much.
I tell you all this so that you appreciate your own fellow practitioners more. Of course, I appreciate you all the time. But I also tell you this so that you know that I don’t take your goodness for granted. I really respect you and feel that I’m very blessed to be with such beautiful people. To be together. So, you see, everything is a lesson for us. Everything is a lesson for us. Tired! Tired! Go. Go! Go! Go to sleep. The little Lord is tired! Wants to go to sleep. Please, sit down anywhere, anywhere. Sit down. Please, sit down anywhere. Sit down anywhere. We’ll be right there. You see, so, everything is a lesson for you and for me. I learn from you as well as you learn from me. So, there is not really a Master around. There are only friends, fellow practitioners. But since you insist on putting me in this difficult position, well, I just obey and do what you want.
And maybe, if I can serve you in any way, then I will continue because it’s an honor for me. It’s an honor to serve the saints, saintly people.When I was in India, at one time, I was in a Master’s ashram. And every day, what I did was take care of the flowers, water them, and clean some of the bathrooms, and clean the kitchen, and I cleaned the staircase, the floor, washing the floor. Not give the pillows, but clean the kitchen, (Wash the dishes.) wash the dishes. (Oh! Wash the dishes.) Wash the dishes. Because people came there just to see the Master. So, they didn’t want to see anything in the kitchen. And every day, if you walked into the kitchen, you’d see a big, huge mountain of dishes, forks and knives. Big, huge, bigger than me, taller than me. A big, huge mountain of dishes. Nobody wanted to see them. They only wanted to see the Master. So, every day, I went and took care of it; whenever I saw the mountain of dishes. It was not my job to be in the kitchen, but since nobody else did it, I was afraid that the evening would come and then we wouldn’t have enough dishes on time. So, I always washed them. But I was very, very happy to do the job. I felt like I was cleaning myself.
And then I washed… not really washed – you know, putzen (cleaned)… wiped, cleaned the staircase. Because there were many staircases in the ashram. They had different floors. They had not only flat [level], but higher floors, and upper floors and downstairs. So, there were many staircases. So, I often cleaned the staircases, together with the floors, of course. But the staircases sometimes really gave me a very, very deep impression. Because when I washed the staircases, I felt very, very clearly that I was washing the feet of the saints, because all the people came there to practice meditation. And for me, they were saints, saintly people. And when I washed every staircase, I felt so deeply that I was so honored to have the opportunity to wash the dust from the feet of the saints. And I was so, so happy every day to do that. I was so honored.
That’s right. But I don’t know why I told you all this. I forgot what’s the purpose now. I don’t know why I tell you all this, I forgot what’s the purpose now. I forgot the purpose. What was it before? What was it before the Indian story? (We are so blessed to have this group.) Yeah, yeah. Maybe connected. Yeah, maybe the same. So, I’m always blessed too, when I see any saintly people, the same with you.
Even though maybe sometimes you force me to behave like a so-called Master or Guru like that, but in my heart, there is no such thing as a Master or disciples, because we all have God inside. And I’m always reminding myself that I’m dealing with God directly. So, every day, I’m also checking myself in the evening, or whenever I can, to see whether I forget this principle. Sometimes I might forget, but not on purpose. And then I will repent and promise to do better. So, that’s why I’m so happy to be in your presence because you’re really, really very saintly.
I’m telling you everything from my heart. And I hope this will remind you of your mission in this life, of your glory, of your own greatness, and you’ll continue to bless the world with your presence and your goodwill. OK. Thank you so much.
