In today’s news, United Nations provides funding to support humanitarian operations in Nigeria and other countries. International study predicts higher than expected industrial chemical emissions will delay ozone layer recovery, research discovery points to possible new sustainable biofuel from date palm waste, Indian startup develops clean energy hydrogen cooking stove, stray dog-person adopted after living on the roadside in US, updates to Finnish nutrition guidelines result in plant-based market growth, and British cat companion reunites with caregiver after being missing for five years.

Daily exercise is good for you and your animal-family! I would like to share a health tip with you today. According to research, taking as little as 1,700 additional steps a day could decrease your risk of developing chronic diseases such as obesity, and improve your long-term health. Lowering the risks of other conditions like high blood pressure and sleep apnea requires a bit more work. For these conditions, 2,200 steps will need to be added to your daily step count to lower your risk. To reduce your risk of developing COPD, a condition of reduced lung function, you will need to add 5,500 steps daily. Doctors recommend you regularly get up and move if you have a sedentary job. Try to fit in physical activity during breaks, before or after work, and during work calls if possible. Stay active to boost your health!

Let’s bring a little fun into our lives with the joke of the day. This one is entitled, “Lawn Logic.”

Two neighbors, Ruben and Dave, were leaning over the fence, each pretending his lawn was the pride of the block.

“You know, Dave, people always say the grass is greener on the other side.”

“Maybe so.”

“So you admit my lawn looks better?”

“Well, I’m just saying, greener or not, both end up brown after mowing.”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Madison in the United States
