Don't pay too much attention to the outside. Don't focus on material things. Practice to earn your own merits. Then you'll be healthy and happy as well. The more merits you have, the luckier you will be. However, the greedier you are, the more merits will be deducted from you. Your spiritual points will be deducted. It will be too much of a waste. Nothing in this world is free. Of course I offer everything for free, but to Maya, nothing is free. He deducted some points. I've explained before that there are two aspects to our spiritual practice; one is on the inside and one is on the outside. On the outside, we're happy, and we're polite, loving and helpful to people. This is practice on the outside. These qualities come from the inside, so they can't be forced. If we have earned merits from our practice, we can even dissolve poison. If we don't have merits, we can't even swallow Buddha's mouth water. Take care of the inside, and then the outside will be smooth too.
