Researchers found the pesticide contamination reduced when the apple peel and some of the outer pulp were removed, indicating that this method is more effective in getting rid of nearly all pesticide residues compared to the frequently recommended practice of washing. Of course, it is always better to choose low- or no-pesticide produce when available.
